In July 2010 the Larkspur Library Endowment Fund and Foundation hired a professional library consultant, Page + Moris of San Francisco with experience in advising other Marin public libraries, to prepare a space needs assessment of the Larkspur Library with assistance of the Larkspur Library Director and other interested library groups.

The Foundation believes that such an assessment would be beneficial in understanding the present Larkspur Library facility compared with current public library practices and standards. As a small example, such standards include the number of available computers, desks and meeting rooms for various library programs; but the assessment is not a design nor a plan for a new or reconstructed Larkspur Library. The Page + Moris space needs assessment is also available at the Larkspur Library.
